If only it really was this easy to silence my inner critic - I am obviously the most talented cartoonist of my generation, but my idiotic brain just refuses to accept this fact, and is constantly trying to stop me from drawing comics. Fool! Perhaps it's time I invested in a rolling pin after all.

(Ironically enough I had very nearly finished this comic when I decided that I didn't like it, and had to go back and rewrite and redraw the whole thing - damn you brain!)

Oh, and here is the epilogue:

Ah, the joys of dealing with the inner critic... rolling pin seems like a good idea sometimes! Great fun :-)

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Now that you've got that pesky bugger out of the way, it's time for some fun.

I don't know if your work needs any improvement - I've never seen a better drawing of someone rolling out a brain, ever. EVER!!!!

We are coming! Ms. AA has been snowed under lately, but I will try to drag her out from under the drift.

Awesome! I will expect you both to contribute some excellent airplane/light artillery fire noises to the proceedings. Otherwise, this comic is just false advertising.

I would totally read that great work of majestic majesty, but only if you put robots and wizards in too!

The "Oh, the unoriginal pain!" panel epitomizes what I love about your comics. We have a glut of sequential-art masterpieces about real people with feelings — but no one does the stuff you do quite the way you do it. My kids' eyes still light up when I tell them you've got a new comic (even though they're a little disappointed when it's not Beaver & Steve again.) Tell your brain to put that in its pipe and smoke it!

Thank you! I will definitely pass that information along to my brain, and see if it does anything to persuade him.

But comics about Dinosaurs and Wizards are what we all want to read really, deep down, surely!

This is an all-digital comic - I have realised I am so cack-handed that I can't be allowed real pens.

What about making a comic about a beaver and a dinosaur (hijinx ensuing)? ;p Kidding - just make the comic that you like and laugh at and it will all work out. :)

A beaver and a dinosaur? That idea is too lowbrow even for me.

Man, you rock! Hehe, I love the world-weary cynicism of the slimy little green brain. That dude deserved his thwacking.

Fan Art

(Link)

I was inspired by this comic to make a little fan art. Hope you don't mind, James, but since I don't know you personally, I had to Google your likeness. The illustration is here, if interested: http://mtmoriahstudios.blogspot.com/2010/09/james-turner-illustration.html

This...

...this is perfect.

If I had a dollar for everytime I gave in to the endless shriekings of my inner critic ("AAAAAAAAAH!!! YOU'LL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS ____!!! WHY BOTHER DRAWING ANYTHING YOU FRAUD!!!") sadly I sould have many many dollars. ;_;
